Hire Terms
Last updated 1 November 2026
Brisbane Tool Hire is operated by The Trustee for Banks Unit Trust (ABN 41 733 662 904) ("we", "us"). These Hire Terms apply when you book and hire equipment from us. By ticking the box at checkout you agree to them.
1. Booking and payment
A booking is made when you pay the hire fee, refundable bond and any delivery fee through our secure Stripe checkout. Prices are in Australian dollars. No GST applies (not registered for GST). We may decline or cancel a booking (with a full refund) if equipment becomes unavailable or unsafe.
2. Hire period
The hire period runs from the start date to the return date shown on your booking. A "day" is a 24-hour hire; weekend and weekly rates apply as shown on the site. Pickup and return times are arranged with us. The hire ends when the equipment is returned to us, or collected by us, and checked.
3. Refundable bond
The bond is the total of the bonds for the items you hire. It is held for the hire period and refunded to your original payment method after the return check, normally within 3 business days of return. We may deduct from the bond reasonable amounts for late return, cleaning beyond normal use, missing parts or accessories, or damage or loss (see sections 5 and 6). We will tell you what was deducted and why.
4. Pickup and delivery
Pickup is from our Brisbane location by arrangement. Metro delivery and collection is available for the delivery fee shown at checkout. Someone 18 or over must be present to receive and hand back the equipment. You must inspect the equipment at handover and tell us straight away about any fault or damage.
5. Late returns
If equipment is returned late without our agreement, we may charge the applicable day rate for each extra day (or part day) it is kept, and deduct it from the bond. Please contact us as early as possible if you need to extend.
6. Damage, loss and theft
You are responsible for the equipment from handover until it is returned. You must pay the reasonable cost of repair, or replacement at current value, for damage, loss or theft that happens during the hire, other than fair wear and tear or a fault that was not caused by you. This may be deducted from the bond, and if it is more than the bond we may invoice the difference. Report any theft to police and to us within 24 hours.
7. Safe use and PPE
You must read and follow the manufacturer's instructions and any safety information we provide; only use equipment for its intended purpose; wear suitable personal protective equipment (for example eye, hearing and respiratory protection, gloves and sturdy footwear); not allow anyone untrained, impaired or under 18 to operate it; and stop using it and contact us immediately if it becomes faulty. Do not attempt repairs yourself.
8. Your responsibilities
You must keep the equipment secure and in your control, not sub-hire or lend it, not take it outside the Brisbane region without our agreement, use the correct fuel or power supply, and return it reasonably clean with all parts and accessories. You are responsible for complying with any laws, permits or site rules that apply to your use.
9. Insurance and liability
We do not provide insurance for your use of the equipment. You may wish to check whether your own home, contents or business insurance covers hired equipment. To the extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and you are responsible for loss, injury or damage to people or property caused by your use or misuse of the equipment.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where we are allowed to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited (at our option) to re-supplying the hire or refunding the hire fee.
10. Privacy
We handle your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.
11. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Cancellations and refunds are covered by our Cancellation Policy. Questions: chris.banks0@gmail.com.
