Brisbane Tool Hire is operated by The Trustee for Banks Unit Trust (ABN 41 733 662 904) ("we", "us"). We are committed to handling personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you make a booking or enquiry we collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery address (if you choose delivery), the items and dates you book, and messages you send us. Payment card details are entered directly with Stripe; we do not see or store your full card number. Our hosting provider may also record basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security.
Why we use it
To take and manage your booking, arrange pickup or delivery, process payments, bonds and refunds, contact you about your hire, prevent fraud, and meet our legal and tax obligations. We do not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers, who may store or process information outside Australia (including in the United States):
- Stripe — payment processing
- Netlify — website hosting and booking form submissions
- Google — email, calendar and spreadsheets we use to manage bookings
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to insurers, police or debt collectors in relation to damaged, lost or unreturned equipment.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above and our record-keeping obligations.
Access and correction
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time.
